  • Temporary Instructor for "Origins of the Modern World to 1500"

Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, and service, seeks applications for a temporary instructor for an introductory course entitled "Origins of the Modern World to 1500". The course covers prehistory through the medieval era, with a focus on Mediterranean and European societies.

Teaching dates are January 9-May 13, 2020. The course meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00-12:15.

Requirements include a Master's or PhD degree in History or related field, evidence of teaching excellence, fluency in English (the language of instruction), and legal permission to work in Spain. Ideally the candidate should also be familiar with the US system of higher education.

  • Full-Time Faculty Position in Theological Studies

Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, is seeking applicants for a full-time (12-month renewable) faculty position in Theological Studies at the campus in Madrid, Spain. The Madrid campus of this American university is a vibrant international community, with students from more than 50 countries and of diverse faiths, united by the principles and traditions of Jesuit higher education.

Area of specialization is open, but the candidate should be able to teach introductory and upper-level courses in Theological Studies at the undergraduate level (6 courses per academic year). The candidate's teaching should be able to support and expand on our course offerings in Christian theology, social justice, and/or the roles of the Church in society, past and present. The candidate is expected to carry out research in their area of expertise, perform administrative tasks, and actively participate in campus events.

Requirements include a Ph.D. in Theological Studies or a related field, evidence of teaching and research excellence, fluency in English (the language of instruction), and a commitment to diversity. The ideal candidate will also have some familiarity with the US system of higher education. The position can begin in January 2020, but start date is negotiable.

  • Part-time teaching position in the Division of Science and Engineering
     
    The Madrid (Spain) Campus of Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution, dedicated to student learning, research, service and healthcare, is seeking applicants for a part-time position in the Division of Science and Engineering at the Madrid campus to begin in September 2019. Interested applicants should have a valid work permit in Spain.
    The successful candidate will hold a Master or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, along with evidence of research and teaching excellence. The position requires demonstrated experience in teaching university courses at undergraduate level. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in teaching materials science courses.
